ROR Conference in Akka / Film clips from social struggle in Tel Aviv, a Letter from Henry Lowi

Palestine continues to bleed under the racist Zionist regime and its Palestinian underlings. The bankruptcy of those who claim to be the "resistance" and those who claim to speak for "moderation" is visible to all. Everyone has noticed their murderous effectiveness against their Palestinian brothers and sisters. Everyone has compared this murderous effectiveness with their uselessness against the Israeli occupation forces.

While Hamas has earned (and defended) its right to manage the Bantustan, it has not earned the right to impose an Islamist personal lifestyle on the people of the Bantustan. Defending Hamas activists from the occupation regime is not the same as justifying Hamas' political program. An Islamist program cannot be the constitution of an all-Palestinian state. That is where the demand for a non-sectarian democratic state comes in. A non-sectarian, secular, democratic state does not impose "secularism" on the people, but merely permits the people to choose their religion freely, or to choose secularism. The nonsense in the imperialist media, about Fateh being "secular", is laughable. What is needed is a program to mobilize the people for their democratic future.

Many years ago, the slogan was raised: "Filastin waheda wa-muwaheda, hurra wa'demokratiya" - For an "undivided, unified free and democratic Palestine." That slogan is as valid now as it was then. Especially in response to the partisans of Partition, and further partitions of Partition.

Not a diplomatic "horizon", but regime change is necessary to achieve the people's freedom.

And, while we're talking about "regime change" and a "unified, free and democratic Palestine", we must pay some attention to the state of social struggle in Israel:

The poor residents of Kfar Shalem, built in the ruins of Salameh, in their despair, call for building a "strong organization" to oppose their eviction by Israeli state authorities, at http://www.tv.social.org.il/community/kfar-shalem-17-6-07.htm

Homeless residents of Jerusalem, in their tent city, with nowhere else to go, call for "overthrowing the regime" at http://www.tv.social.org.il/community/maahal-jerusalem.htm

In their despair and hopelessness, the need for "strong organization" to "overthrow the regime" appears as the only way forward. Wouldn't it make sense to discuss this strategy openly and prepare for it systematically - and not wait for people to reach "the end of their rope"? Wouldn't this be the rational response to the oppressor regime in Palestine, in order to avoid future misery and hopelessness and despair?

See...the Third Conference for the Right of Return and a Just Peace. I hope to receive transcripts of the proceedings of the Conference. It is very important that the demand to recognize the refugees' right of return is being raised by pro-democracy activists in Israel. The more it is raised, the more its validity will be recognized, the closer we come to a program of coexistence.
